To be frank, I do not really know what I want to do as a professional career which was pretty complicated when I had to choose a master. Choosing one and the right one was such a hard decision but I do not regret it a bit. This master allows me to be an expert in foreign languages with two first languages in which I am now bilingual. A third one, that I keep learning and in which I will be fluent in a few months since I will be studying in Portugal for a semester.

Plus, the master makes me an even better communicant thanks to all the courses given to me. Professional and teachers are very interesting and make me work harder and go beyond myself. Thanks to this education I can work in the communication field and master it because I developed my creativity and my self-confidence.

My business strategy skills, as well as the communication ones, were already pretty good thanks to my different professional experiences but this academic path allowed me to become much more than a student but a professional at it.

MASTER LACISE LANGUAGES, INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION AND BUSINESS STRATEGY

ANGERS, FRANCE

2017 - 2019

I started studying Portuguese in freshman year of university. At this time, I choose this language because it seemed to me that with the globalization and the rising of Brazil and Portugal, it will be very useful in my professional career.

I do not regret making this decision, especially since these two countries have been growing drastically over the last few years.

I actually choose the master I am in today because I knew I could go study abroad once again. I feel fulfilled when I am overseas and learning so much from other people and another culture makes me very happy.

I did not know the city of Braga before going there but I realized quickly that it was a very important city in Portugal. I am actually feeling very grateful that I got the chance to study in such a good university: Universaidade do Minho.

The classes that I had were mostly in Portuguese which was really challenging on a daily basis.

However, I passed all my exams successfully and came back to France with additional skills, memories, and friends, once again.

I actually think that I would like to be working in this country one day.

A SEMESTER ABROAD

UMINHO

BRAGA, PORTUGAL

2018

At the age of 16, I left France to go to the USA for a year. Leaving everything behind me, family & friends, was a real challenge.

Adjusting to my new life was an even bigger challenge. The American culture was so much different from the French one than I expected. It was so surprising. Norms and values were different, stereotypes I had were not all accurate.

Living with a host family was hard because I had to adjust to their habits and customs. Studying in an American High School was a very interesting experience, but also quite challenging because of the language barrier.

The language barrier was one of the biggest problems I had to deal with through the year. Something I was not prepared for was that.  Not speaking well the language or understanding it was very frustrating, especially not being able to express my feelings properly.

Days after days, weeks after weeks, months after months, I improved my English and eventually adjust to the American culture.

It was a very enriching experience that I won't ever forget! This year abroad as an exchange student made me stronger and more confident. It made me realize that I could do anything by myself.

Thanks to this awesome experience I am now bilingual in English.

A YEAR ABROAD

BLUE VALLEY WEST

HIGH SCHOOL

KANSAS, USA

2012 - 2013

Right after my graduation, I decided to study foreign languages because I liked it and especially because I was good at it. Being bilingual in English was a big advantage to me compared to the other students. The different courses in English and Spanish made me perfect both of the languages. As a third language, I choose Portuguese. Portuguese is spoken in many growing countries such as Brazil and Portugal. It will be of great use in my future international career.

The business skills I learned are very much helpful in the different professional experiences that I have today.

BACHELOR DEGREE

FOREIGN LANGUAGES AND INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS

ANGERS, FRANCE

2014 - 2017

Thanks to the bachelor I choose in foreign languages and international business, I had the opportunity to study abroad for a semester. I choose Uruguay because it was an original destination. I wanted to study in a Spanish-speaking country and South American was an unknown land to me so it was much more interesting.

Going abroad again was so exciting for me but also stressful because the culture was different again. I had the same fears before leaving but this time I knew how to overpass its.

Instead of living with a host family, this time I choose to share a house with other foreign students and locals (Uruguayans). The experience was challenging because of the mix of culture. Norms and values were once again so much different from one culture to another. My adaptation ability was one of my main strength while living in the house Experiencing the everyday life with Spanish, Germans, French, and Uruguayans was so enriching and interesting and made this semester even greater.

Once there, the language barrier was once again quite hard to deal with. Spanish was my second language and the Uruguayan accent was pretty difficult to understand as well. I did need time to adjust. A bit longer than in the United States. I eventually became fluent in Spanish after a few weeks and I can now have any conversations such as political, social or professional ones.
